NEWS: SOLIDARITY GOODS SHOP ON GUTHRIE STREET HAS CLOSED DOWN, DUE TO EVENTS BEYOND OUR CONTROL. WE WILL, HOWEVER, STILL BE TRADING WITH A STALL AT VARIOUS EVENTS. WATCH THIS SPACE FOR MORE INFORMATION. WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL OUR VOLUNTEERS FOR THEIR HARDWORK AND DEDICATION, AND THE EDINBURGH UNIVERSITY SETTLEMENT FOR THE SUPPORT THEY HAVE GIVEN US OVER THE YEARS. WE WOULD ALSO LIKE TO THANK OUR CUSTOMERS AND HOPE TO SEE YOU AT OUR STALL SOON!!
Solidarity Goods was set up as a space where small grassroots charities could sell crafts to raise money for their projects. We are volunteer run and not for profit, so the money made goes directly back to the charities involved.
The charities we are currently working with are Afghan Schools Trust, Project Hope (Palestine), Artists for Gaza and the Edinburgh Chiapas Solidarity Group. We have also formed links with the Keer Lai Women’s Association (Gambia) and are happy that Solidarity Goods now has a sister shop in the Gambia.
Over the years we have been lucky to have volunteers from Palestine, Italy, Spain, The Gambia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, France, USA, Ireland and the UK.
We still aim to support the charities we have been working with in any way possible. You can help too! Follow the links on this site to get in touch with the charities directly, and come visit our stall!! Also watch this space for new shop possibility!!
